Invisalign Tips

Invisalign Tips

If you are a candidate for Invisalign and are interested in beginning treatment, then you probably have quite a few questions. Writing down your questions and concerns can help you remember to ask them at your consultation. Looking at previous Invisalign reviews can also be a great way to pick up tips on how to get the most out of your treatment.

Here are a few tips and information for staying on-top of your Invisalign treatment.

1. You have to wear them. Braces are securely bonded to your teeth, which means that wearing them is not optional once treatment begins. Invisalign works differently, as you are the active participant in wearing the aligners. You do need to ensure that the aligners are in place a minimum of 20 to 22 hours a day. If you fail to wear them as needed, you may not get the results that you want.

2. There may be an adjustment period. The aligners are invisible, but when you start wearing them, you can feel them. Your speech may sound a little different for a few days, and you may have trouble clearly enunciating. This goes away quickly, though, and your speech will sound just as it always did.

3. Keep your toothbrush handy. Every time you eat a meal or snack, you will need to brush your teeth thoroughly before replacing your aligners. Limit coffee, tea, soda or anything else that could stain your Invisalign aligners, and brush or at least rinse before you put your aligners back in.

Getting a beautiful smile without unsightly metal got a lot easier thanks to Invisalign. The clear aligners are comfortable and virtually painless, and you can straighten your smile without the bulky look of braces.
